Since last Spring, I have been using 2 essential oil diffusers on 2 different floors: 1st floor = Anti-Fly blend by Air-Aromax & 2nd floor = Lemon-Orange blend by the same company. Maybe this is all a coincidence but those beetles now tend to gather in OTHER rooms where are furthest away from these diffusers. Remember to use only 100% essential oil that sells for at least $10 USD for a lil' 10-mL dark-colored vial. Like in dark navy or dark brown vials, anything else is just artificial (synthetic) fragrance which harms your lungs & have no effects on repelling insects. I got mine from Earthority.com under the Aromatherapy section.

We also get the yearly swarm of Asian beetles, and I have had them in my coffee, milk, and cereal. This past Fall I made my own spray with essential oils and we seemed to have less beetles in the house. I sprayed outside around the doors and windows with a solution of water, citronella essential oil, camphor essential oil, peppermint essential oil, and a few drops of liquid dish soap. I'll find out this Spring how well it worked when they wake up.

They are harmless...but some people don't like them and freak out mainly because they have bug phobias...
